CH Suncoast's
Sable A really beautiful, nicely put-together, typey, flat coat bitch. Earned her CH easily, before two years of age. Sable loved the show ring, and would show off for anybody that she thought was watching her. She was a very vocal, loving lady, who also loved to pick up birds for anyone willing to shoot, and had a good aim. Due to my working schedule at the time of her show career, I was not able to attend all the shows with Sable. A friend would take her, so I missed most of her wins -- something I regret. She was passionate about water - any amount, and was constantly in the pool. She had spectacular water entries, only to be outdone by her son, JJ. Sable had a beautiful, lush coat - was a great moving, sound bitch. A pretty girl, but I always thought slightly course for a female. She had a nice head and eyes, but just not very feminine. Sable had a wonderful attitude on live, and never met a person she didn't like. |

CH Suncoast's
Jumpin Jack Flash CD, CGC JJ was my pick from Sable's first litter. When the litter was evaluated by a couple of FCR breeders, they asked me why I wanted to keep "that pupp", as apparently they didn't feel he was anything out of the ordinry. My comment at that time was, that if I had to live with one of those puppies for the next 12 years or so, it was going to be "that puppy". Almost three years later, JJ earned him CH in the first two weekends of his show career, with three back-to-back majors the first weekend, from the bred by exhibitor class. He is a beautiful, sound mover, with a very lush coat, and is a moderately sized dog who LOVED the show ring. |

CH Longleaf Somerset Wing Strut CGC June 15, 1990 to April 25, 2001 (CH Curlee Hill End Quote X CH Athercroft Longleaf's Siren) In December of 1992, when Strut came along with TC to join my family, she was eighteen months old, weighed twenty pounds, and had no selfconfidence. She was a throw-away -- someone no longer wanted her, when I came along. We started the long road to recovery. Physical recovery was easy - she went Best of Opposite at her first show a month later, but the mental recovery took almost a year. Once her selfconfidence returned and she felt trust again, there was no stopping her in her happiness. Due to lack of majors, it took a while to finish her CH, but finish she did. The weekend she did, was a memorable one for me, as she went Best of Breed over several male and female specials - including the top winning male at that time. She had also previously earned a Best of Breed undar a flat coat breeder judge. Strut is a beautiful moving bitch, who "loves to Strut her stuff around the ring". Strut has produced one litter of which three finished their championships before the age of two - another just prior to her third birthday - another is pointed and two are in wonderful, loving pet and hunting homes. (See Struts story of her battle with cancer in the Critter Chat Newsletter. |
