                          Our Policy

It is our policy at Di-Ti to ensure proper health of any puppy we produce throughout it's life time.

Any Lhasa Apso puppy  purchased from Di-Ti has Health Guarantees in writing as follows:.

1.  1 (one) year HEALTH GUARANTEE:  This Lhasa Apso will not die from any congenital or hereditary defects.  Proof must be provided in writing by a licensed veterinarian of any defects.

2.  1 (one) year EYE GUARANTEE:  This Lhasa is guaranteed to be free of genetic eye disorders/diseases (Excluding Cherry Eye) but including PRA.   Proof must be provided in writing by a licensed veterinarian or CERF Certification Expert of any defects.

3.  2 (two) year HIP GUARANTEE:  This Lhasa is guaranteed to be free from Hip Dysplasia or other crippling hip disease/disorders.  Proof must be provided in writing by a licensed veterinarian of OFA Certification Expert.

If this Lhasa Apso is diagnosed with a life-threatening disease/disorder, congenital or hereditary defect, hip dysplasia or genetic/hereditary eye disorder, a Lhasa Apso of equal value will be provided to the buyer of said puppy.  Two conditions will apply to the terms of a new Lhasa Apso puppy (replacement).  First, the owner of the 'defective' puppy can either

a.  Return the puppy for an exchange Lhasa  OR

b.  Have the puppy altered (spayed/neutered) prior to receiving the new Lhasa Apso.  Proof must be provided of the altering to the breeder.

One thing  we feel is important is to provide the owner of their puppy the chance to keep their Lhasa, rather than requiring him/her to be returned as a new owner has usually become attached to and made their Lhasa Apso a family member and this is the most important thing for the well bring of any pet.

The replacement canine will be from a future litter (different bloodlines if requested), same breed and will adhere to the same terms, agreements, guarantees and contracts as the originally purchased Lhasa Apso.

We strive to provide you with a Healthy Lhasa Apso, both genetically (physically) and mentally.  Please contact us at any time with any questions or concerns as we want to ensure our show/breeding quality animals are of the best health and sound temperament.  Please send updated photos of your puppy, too.  We do keep updates and all photos of our puppies and keep track of them and their health throughout their lifetime.  ALL of our puppies are microchipped prior to going to their new homes.

We have Bred and Trained,  home-raised, home-bred,  Group 1st winning Champions.

All of our puppies are raised in our Home with children and socialized with strangers of all ages as well as numerous noises and other pets.  We free feed our puppies Eukanuba lamb and Rice Puppy for Small Breeds (or Iams Small breed Puppy) and recommend this food for the first year of your Lhasa Apso's growing.  A starter Puppy Package is provided to you for your puppy.

Your puppy has been 'naturally' weaned by it's dam (mom) and not removed from her until properly weaned (NO sooner than 8 weeks).  We do not choose when to wean, we allow them to be weaned by the dam their litter remains together for proper mental and physical puppy socialization.

Their dew-claws are removed by our veterinarian at 3 days old and they are wormed on a regular schedule.  All our puppies receive their first DHPP-C Puppy Booster shot (Type:  Vanguard 5/CV).  We also give boosters 4 weeks apart after they receive their first booster until they go to their new homes.  We do NOT recommend ANY vaccinations with Leptospirosis.  Also contact your vet about a proper age to give Rabies and Bordetella vaccinations.

Spay and neutering needs to be done at 6 months of age.

One of our most important requirements when selling a puppy to a new home is if the Lhasa is unable to be kept by the purchasing owner, the Lhasa will only be returned to the breeder with no refunds, unless an agreement is provided in writing stating otherwise.  We are involved in rescue work and require that any animal bought by or adopted by us is required to be returned to us to enable to to keep track of any of the lives we choose to bring into this world.

The following is a copy of our Spay/Neuter Policy.  On all of our puppies we sell, we encourage the new owners to spay or neuter and provide the refund to help with their cost in doing so.

SPAY/NEUTER AGREEMENT/CONTRACT

*  This puppy will be altered at 6 months of age.  There will be no exceptions.  Proof (a copy of the altering certificate) must be provided to the breeder before the AKC Registration Application papers will be provided to the new owner.

*  Upon Proof of altering, a $50.00 refund will be provided to the new owner within 30 days of receiving the altering certificate.

Most people we sell our puppies to are pet homes that prefer to spay and neuter. If a person is interested in breeding, we use a strict breeding contract.  Please feel free to inquire if you are interested.

The following is used on our contracts and is agreed to before we sell any puppy.

NO  puppies produced from either a stud or dam from Di-Ti will be placed up for adoption at an auction, turned over to research or sold to/from Pet Stores of any type, anywhere.

A breech of this contract will result in a $1,000.00 charge to the new owners for damages to the Di-Ti name and the Lhasa Apso and ALL puppies  immediately returned to the breeder, without any hesitation from the original purchasing owner.  Di-Ti is very strict about it's Lhasa Apsos and the future of the breed and it's puppies brought into the world.  Our dogs are our kids, they are pets (as well as show dogs).
